A supercharged team I have been a part of

At school I was part of the European Youth Parliament team, which was basically a big debating competition. As a mixed team with very different interests, skills and styles we spent a lot of time getting crystal clear on what each of us were brilliant at so we knew who exactly to deploy ‘on the spot’ every time. We were totally selfless in making sure we played to those strengths; it wasn’t about individual glory, rather who would do the best job.

Why I love what I do

I'm fascinated by the complexities of human behaviour, the nuts and bolts of big businesses and the intersection of these two elements. I get a kick out of helping clients find new ways of tackling problems and achieving results that are both strategically robust and that unleash true human potential, ultimately hitting the bottom line

A business result I'm proud of

A major oil and gas player had launched its new low-carbon strategy, and whilst its leaders understood it rationally they had yet to form deeper emotional commitment to driving it forwards. I enjoyed getting under the skin of what really motivates people to engage in something new, and pin point what gives them the impetus to make it happen. Over a series of four transformative events across three continents, we designed interventions that enabled leaders to wrestle with the reality both inside the business and in the outside world, giving them time and space to have the ‘real conversations’ that really mattered - a totally different experience to anything they’ve done before.

A highlight was seeing the client team lead from the front, to the point that most people never even knew we were involved! The result was seeing people who can truly affect the future of our planet feel not only inspired by what they need to do but equipped and energised to go out and do it.
