A supercharged team I have been a part of
I’ve been a volunteer with Young Enterprise, the UK’s largest enterprise charity, for 11 years; working with local and national teams to help young people develop their employability skills. It is an amazing feeling, working with others who share the same passion, and continually trialling new and creative solutions to further the cause. It’s also enabled me to understand what young people want and need to excel and be able to share that with organisations.

I set up and led the People & HR consulting practice at Moorhouse, working with organisations on global transformation programmes. This involved working at Board level to help organisations deliver their strategy through their people, such as understanding the current and future of work, transforming the people and engagement strategy, culture, operating model and organisation design, talent strategy and L&D, Employee Value Proposition or the HR function itself.

Why I love what I do
I love working with People and Exec teams as it is a chance to change lives for the better. Organisations are essentially a group of people working towards a common goal, so getting that balance between what people and organisations need and want is so important and endlessly fascinating; whether it is how the culture helps deliver the business strategy, to an individual talking to their line manager.
A business result I'm proud of
I worked with a charity who delivered support to court witnesses on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. Attending court as a witness can be extremely stressful, particularly where you are the victim. This particular charity won the bid on the promise of delivering an outreach service to all vulnerable witnesses across the UK, within the same overall financial envelope.
By transforming their operating model, from the delivery processes, organisation design, digital tools, L&D and communications, the charity were able to deliver the outreach service within the same budget, and do this within nine months of taking over the contract. It is five years on and the same charity are still running the service.
